Francis Upritchard on Human Touch
“I wanted to make something that would be fun to stitch. I learnt embroidery at a young age and I’ve always enjoyed changing colours, stitches and not too much in-fill of large areas and I hope my collaborators feel the same.
I absolutely believe in the therapeutic power of creativity. I know that I process a lot of my experiences, joys and anxieties through my work. Not just by sorting through ideas in a method not far off dreaming, but also when I’m keeping my hands busy my mind is in a meditative state. To the stitchers, I’d like to thank you for a beautiful translation of this work.”
