Melissa Wyndham
Celebrated interior designer Melissa Wyndham was renowned for her ability to create designs that worked within historic settings, yet introduced colour and character to these traditional interiors. Beginning her interiors career in the 1970s, she founded her own company in 1985. Her work was in high demand, with a clientele of some of the UK's most exquisite stately homes, including Petworth House in Sussex, Lismore Castle in Ireland, and Mottisfont Abbey in Hampshire.
In 2003, Melissa Wyndham was asked to join the Board of Trustees by Lady Anne Tree. As leader of Fine Cell Work’s Design Committee, Melissa created some of our most iconic designs, including our embroidered Pineapple Cushion, and persuaded countless other designers to come onboard. She
was dedicated to our charity and will be forever missed. Fine Cell Work will be eternally grateful to her.

“Stitching allows me to use a totally different part of my brain and personality. I can move away from the more difficult reflections and anxieties and feel creative and purposeful. This means I no longer feel that my life has come to a halt and that I am of no use to anyone else.”- Tom, FCW Stitcher -
