Bring a piece of Knepp's wildlife into your home with this exquisitely-stitched cushion that features a herd of galloping, wild Exmoor ponies. The product of Fine Cell Work’s most skilled stitchers, the intricate design captures the ponies’ powerful build, stocky legs and small ears. The stitchers’ work highlights the contours of their musculature, whilst the direction of the chain stitch gives an impression of movement and flow.

This hand stitched cushion is part of Knepp's wildlife collection, made in collaboration with Fine Cell Work. The Knepp Rewilding Project in Sussex is run by the pioneering Isabella Tree, the daughter of Fine Cell Work's founder Lady Anne Tree, and the collection, inspired by the creatures roaming the estate, celebrates our rich history together.

Crafted in complementary shades of blue, the Knepp Ponies Cushion is backed with off-white organic cotton and piped with a navy blue trim.

    Ponies enjoying freedom !!

I have bought this lovely cushion because I loved it, what better reason could there be !
I am giving it to one of my grandchildren who is 14, they live near Tavistock in Devon and hopefully she’ll enjoy having it on her bed - a little love goes a long way xx

    Beautiful cushion

This cushion is absolutely beautiful. The stitch work is so very neat. The design of the horses gracefully running across it creates an eye catching and stunning piece. It was a gift ( very well received) but actually I rather wish it was mine to keep.
    Keep stitching - thank you!

    About the designer

    Knepp Wilding

Fine Cell Work and Knepp are threaded together through family legacy and vision. The revolutionary Knepp rewilding project, a 3,500-acre estate in Sussex, was co-founded by Isabella Tree, the daughter of Fine Cell Work’s founder, Lady Anne Tree.

Inspired by Knepp’s extraordinary rebounding wildlife and stitched by hand in UK prisons, the collaboration features original illustrations by Knepp's designer, Lia Brazier. Represented in the collection are species which play a vital part in the rewilding project at Knepp: beavers, white storks, turtle doves and Exmoor ponies.

The collection is available exclusively from Knepp's Wilding Kitchen & Shop, and the Fine Cell Work website.

“Stitching allows me to use a totally different part of my brain and personality. I can move away from the more difficult reflections and anxieties and feel creative and purposeful. This means I no longer feel that my life has come to a halt and that I am of no use to anyone else.”
