Wonderful kits and a great cause!

I actually haven't started the birds yet, but the similar hares kit is wonderful! Beautiful design and plenty of wool to work with! Birds next!

Resting Birds

Have just received this pattern. I've just completed the "Boxing Hares" which has been made into a beautiful cushion. Looking forward to completing this one. Impressed with the speed with which I received my order - all the way to New Zealand. Really enjoying these kits- as a new "stitcher" I found this kit an easy introduction to the craft- I hope that Fine Cell continues to offer new patterns. Thank you for hours of enjoyment !

Lovely image

I love this company and I love the design of the kit. The pattern is not printed straight on the canvas which is a bit off putting and the wool is a bit thin and gets straggly by the end of a length.

I love this pattern. I finished this tapestry pillow cover last year and it looks brilliant on my couch.
In fact, I loved it so much I have purchased a second one so I can have a pair. Great quality materials and such a lovely pattern.

Fine cell needlepoint kits are fantastic. I hope they will be developing more patterns for us to enjoy.

‘Resting Birds’ is the second Fine Cell kit I’ve worked. Great quality of wool, good quality canvas with excellent clarity of design printing. This makes for pleasurable sewing.
My first Fine Cell kit ‘Boxing Hares’ was equally high standard and Viking Loom, York, made my finished work into a lovely cushion.
Love the charity aspect too.
Have recommended these kits whenever I can.

Lovely

I have worked on this lovely design for a few years and have just finished. It’s inevitably a little misshapen as I don’t use a ring but I’ve loved doing it and am half way through the Dodo.
I did run out of the white wool but Fine Cell were able to source me some more so I could finish it. It’s well made, the wool is good quality and I have gained enormous pleasure from stitching calmly away when on holiday (in the past!) and visiting some kind friends over time. I gain real pleasure also from knowing that I’m helping this fine organisation!

A truly lovely gift

I gave this as a gift to a friend of mine who has been extremely stressed over the past few months - COVID, divorce, new house - and offered it as an encouragement for her to sit and find some calm in her day. She wept - it was and has been perfect the perfect antidote to all the breakdown and sadness. The chance to sit calmly and creat something new and beautiful! Thank you Fine Cell Work.

present giving

When my daughter in law requested a tapestry for her birthday I looked around on the internet for quite a while to find something suitable.
This was more expensive and took longer to arrive than I had intended but when it did I was pleased.
Well presented and a beautiful design.
I await its completion. Told her that I might get it made up by Finecell .
The charity were all good to talk with by phone and are doing a great job with their prisoners.

March Hares

I eventually finished the two black boxing hares with the orange patterned background. It's a great stress reducer as well as a useful and beautiful cushion cover, and all the yarn was supplied with some to spare.

Delighted with my purchase

The Resting Birds needlepoint kit is a really lovely design, and comes nicely packaged so would make a great gift. I haven't actually started it yet, but have read the instructions which are very clear. I like the colours (which are true to the website image) and the wool feels excellent quality. I'm really looking forward to making this - when it's done I plan to send it to Fine Cell Work to be made up as a cushion cover.

About the designer

William De Morgan

William De Morgan was an English ceramicist, designer and novelist. A lifelong friend of William Morris, he designed tiles, stained glass and furniture for his company Morris & Co.

Many of his tiles featured fantastical birds and animals, designed to create intricate patterns when laid together.

We've applied several of De Morgan's classic designs to our needlepoint cushions and kits.
