A moment of festive togetherness
Throughout the year, apprentices and graduates from our post-release programme, Open The Gate, staff and Hub volunteers look forward to one of the highlights of the Fine Cell Work calendar - our annual Apprentice and Graduate Christmas Party. This is a very special occasion that brings everyone together to catch-up, share food and conversation and play games.
The office is transformed for the day with handmade Christmas decorations, tables are set, and members of the Fine Cell Work team prepare and cook a delicious Christmas lunch for everyone.

After lots of shared stories over lunch, we all played games together, which this year, included a bumper general knowledge quiz, complete with exciting prizes!
T, a current Open The Gate apprentice, tells us how much the lunch meant to them:
"The Fine Cell Work apprentice lunch is everything you could want from a Christmas celebration - fun festivities and different people coming together to share delicious food. I thought I'd never be able to do something like this, but I realise that it's possible in the right environment, such as Fine Cell Work. I feel part of something bigger - it really makes a difference. If I hadn't come along, I may not have celebrated Christmas this year - it gives me hope for going forward. Thank you Fine Cell Work. I'm so grateful."

The lunch was also enjoyed by volunteers and staff:
"It's an opportunity for everyone to come together and experience something that perhaps they may not otherwise have this time of year. It's a safe, welcoming space, and Fine Cell Work staff put in a huge effort to ensure everyone feels celebrated and looked after."
~ Antonia, Fine Cell Work Volunteer
"The Apprentice and Graduate Christmas Party was a truly special occasion for the Fine Cell Work family to come together and celebrate all that we have achieved over the past year. It was wonderful to see our current Apprentices and recent Graduates enjoying a hearty lunch and, most importantly, feeling part of a supportive community. At this time of year especially, creating spaces where people feel connected and included really matters. A huge thank you to my brilliant colleagues who helped make the day so memorable."
~ Rupert, Fine Cell Work Engagement and Support Officer
This event means so much to all involved - apprentices, graduates, volunteers and staff - it's a collaborative effort and a powerful reminder of the care and commitment that sits at the heart of what Fine Cell Work is and does. We can't wait for the next one!
